Ped
How to use it
Search by overlay name, shop name, collection or texture dictionary, then narrow it down with the collection, zone, ped and kind filters. Click a picture to open the panel: it has the artwork on its own, the same decoration drawn on a freemode ped, every hash in copyable form and ready Lua. Your filters and your pick stay in the address bar, so a link opens on exactly the tattoo you mean.
Applying one in game
local ped = PlayerPedId()
-- collection first, then the overlay name
AddPedDecorationFromHashes(ped, `mpbeach_overlays`, `MP_Bea_M_Back_000`)
-- take them all off again
ClearPedDecorations(ped)
-- or keep scars
ClearPedDecorationsLeaveScars(ped)The backticks are FiveM's hash literals: the game wants the joaat of the collection name and of the overlay name, not the strings. If you are somewhere backticks do not work, the panel also gives the signed, unsigned and hex numbers.
Things that trip people up
- Order matters. The first hash is the collection (the name of the overlay file, like
mpbiker_overlays), the second is the overlay itself. Swapping them silently does nothing. - Decorations do not survive a model change. Reapply them after
SetPlayerModel, after a respawn and after clothing changes that reset the ped. - Male and female entries are separate. Most tattoos ship as two overlays with
_Mand_Fendings and slightly different placement. Use the one that matches the ped. - DLC decorations need the build. A collection from a newer pack only exists if your server runs a game build that includes it (
sv_enforceGameBuild). - Crew emblems are not in here as pictures. Those overlays point at a texture the game builds at runtime from the player's crew, so there is nothing to show.
About the previews
The artwork is the decoration's own texture, trimmed to the part that is actually used. The ped picture is the same decoration placed on our own conversion of the freemode ped, with one camera per zone, so you can see where it lands before you load the game. A handful of entries have nothing visible on the ped (they sit outside the drawn body parts) and show the artwork only.
Placing your own
Every panel links into the 3D Tattoo Editor at that exact spot, zone, scale and rotation. Handy when you want your own artwork to sit where a game tattoo sits.
