What is in here

All animations is the whole in-game list, every dictionary and every clip the game ships, with the real length, frame count, rate and bone track count. Browse it by family and dictionary, or search the lot at once. Every clip that moves a ped plays, all of them, on our own conversion of the freemode ped straight from the game files, so what you see is what the animation does on a player ped.

A click downloads that one clip and nothing else, usually under 10 KB, so the first frame is up almost at once. Clips that cannot run on a ped are still listed with their facts and their Lua, marked with the reason: facial or camera only, a prop, vehicle or weapon rig, or nothing to watch.

Playing a clip

  • Drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, Reset view puts the camera back.
  • Scrub the bar to step through the motion, change the speed, or turn the loop off to watch it once.
  • Ped switches between the male and the female freemode ped. The clip data is the same for both.
  • A clip that travels (a walk in, a step out) is held on the spot so you can see it. In game it moves the ped.

Synced scenes

A synchronised scene plays two animations that were authored together, so the two peds line up exactly. The other tab lists the pairs, puts both peds on one timeline and draws the prop the scene animates when we have a model for it. When the two clips are not the same length the shorter one holds on its last frame, the way the game does. Props we cannot draw are listed by model name so you still know what to spawn.

Getting it into your script

  • Click the dictionary or the clip name to copy it.
  • The Lua panel gives you a working RequestAnimDict plus TaskPlayAnim, with the loop flag and the length already set from the clip. There is a one line upper body version under it.
  • For a scene you get the whole block: the dictionaries, the props, NetworkCreateSynchronisedScene and both peds added to it.
  • Need other flag combinations? The Animation Flags Calculatorbuilds the number for you.
  • The page URL keeps your selection, so you can send someone a link to one clip or one scene.

Credits

The list of synchronised scene pairs follows the freesynced_scenes tester by ahmed oumjahde (MIT), which collected them from the Scene Director lists on GTA5-Mods. Every animation here is our own conversion of the game files.
