How to use it

1. Pick a starting point under the snail, or leave the default snaily and build from scratch.
2. Look sets the colours: body, spots, shell, swirl, eyes and the mouth line. The presets recolour everything at once.
3. Face is the mood. Pick one of the fifteen moods, or mix eyes, brows and mouth yourself.
4. Wear holds the hats, glasses, chains, outfits, shell stickers and things to hold. Click a part to put it on, click it again to take it off.
5. Scene puts a backdrop behind the snail.
6. Layers lists everything you added: move a part up or down, nudge it, resize it, spin it, flip it, recolour it or delete it.
7. Export saves a PNG, an SVG or a project file.

Click any part on the snail itself to jump straight to that layer. Ctrl + Z undoes, Ctrl + Shift + Z redoes.

Exports

Transparent is the default background. Switch to a solid colour when you need one, for example for a Discord server icon. A backdrop layer paints over the background either way.

Tips

• Surprise me rolls a whole snail: mood, colours and parts. Roll a few times, then fix the bits you like in the Layers tab.
• Two of the same part are allowed. Select a layer, press the copy button, then move the duplicate.
• Shell stickers are trimmed to the shell and outfits are trimmed to the body, so you can push them around without them floating off.
• Rotate a hat a few degrees for a scruffier look. Small angles read better than big ones.
• Every colour slot on a part can be changed on its own, so a cap can have a brim in a different colour than the crown.
• Your snail is saved in this browser as you work. Save a project file if you want to keep more than one.

Artwork and licence

Every shape in this tool is original vector art drawn for fivemad, in the same flat cartoon spirit as our mascot. It is not taken from any art pack. What you export is yours: use it for your server, your Discord, your release thumbnails or your merch.

Privacy

The whole editor runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, the images are rendered on your own machine and the autosave lives in this browser's local storage.
